MEZCAL ARTESANAL

RACHO Mezcal was started to showcase the work and determination of our Maestro Mezcalero, Temo Garcia, and his family. Our Mezcal is a delicious and balanced blend of hand-picked, matured Espadin Agave from the hillsides of San Dionisio Ocotepec, Oaxaca, Mexico, distilled using methods passed down through generations.

THE PALENQUE

Temo's name for the Palenque is Rancho Geuu Y Doo and it is nestled in the highlands of the Sierra Madre Mountain Range in San Dionisio Ocotepec, OAX, MX. Our small batch process utilizes hand-picked, sugar rich agave angustifolia hearts. This land has been in the family for generations.

THE HARVEST

Our small batch process utilizes hand-picked, sugar rich, fully mature Agave Angustifolia hearts grown on the hillsides of San Dionisio Ocotepec.

THE ROAST

We slow-roast our agave hearts underground for 4-5 days utilizing Desert Pine and Volcanic Rock.

THE GRIND

Hermosa, our beautiful horse, pulls the enormous tahona to create ample surface area for fermentation.

THE FERMENTATION

Natural yeasts from the maguey and surrounding micro-climate promote spontaneous fermentation in our wooden vats without the use of accelerants or additives.

THE DISTILLATION

We double distill our Mezcal in rotating copper alembiques to sustain consistency in our Mezcal.
